Hello Everyone
I, as the President of National Union of Pakistani Students and Alumni (NUPSA) welcome you all here. We at NUPSA aim to bring the Pakistani Community together not only in the UK but all over the world. We achieve this by joining hands with Pakistani Societies and Pakistani Student Associations all over the world, and where they don't exist, helping the Pakistani community there to register one to represent them. It is an honour for me and my team to provide a unified voice of the Pakistani student body. We aim to work hard in the best of our capabilities to serve the community in the most effective way possible.
National Union of Pakistani Students & Alumni (NUPSA) is an umbrella body representing the UK university students & alumni of Pakistani heritage, and also those internationally. Nupsa was created in 2007 to provide a unifying voice for students with Pakistani heritage (whether home-grown or international) to represent their true nature as law-abiding, friendly and cultured students and citizens. We at NUPSA want to channelize our positive assets and utilize them in order to bring a positive change in our country and play a constructive role towards the development of Pakistan.
All round the year, NUPSA plans to execute its aim by organising a series of projects and events. These include social, recreational, cultural, campaign based, intellectual based, enlightening talks/seminars and conferences. We also work hard to encourage Pakistan Societies to become active and provide them with support in terms of sponsorships, contacts, media exposure, setting up suppliers, selling event tickets and publicity. NUPSA, being a relatively young organisation has been developed well by the previous executive committees and we will Inshallah take this forum to a next level, raising standards as we move along. We have a long way to go but with a strong team and commitment, nothing seems too far.
Approachability is something very important when trying to bring about a positive result, so that people get a chance to raise their views and concerns. For this reason, please e-mail us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it in order to maintain effective communication channels. We open up ourselves to work together with all stake holders for the unity of Pakistan. In the interest of Pakistan, particularly in the UK which has a large Pakistani population, I believe that no one from us is in favour of dis-unity and misrepresenting Pakistan. Pakistan is going through the biggest upheaval in its history with economic, social and political turmoil. In this turbulent time, it becomes very important that the youth and young take an exemplary and leading role. Only a strong and united NUPSA team would be able to fully embrace the challenges of this enormous task. We urge you to also come forward and join hands with us for the sake of Pakistan - for her unity, for her peace and for her prosperity. We embrace our positions with the full understanding that now more than ever, the activities and actions of this committee will be reviewed by the General Council and members of the public with great interest. At the outset, we will aim to work with all parties and ensure that we move forward together.
On behalf of the NUPSA Executive Committee 2011-12, I promise for a fresh start towards greatness. We assure all our stakeholders, all the individuals who pray for the success of our country, that we are committed to fulfilling the needs of the Union and enthusiastic about implementing any agenda that stands to serve Pakistan and her people in any way. We hold our posts with utmost responsibility and accountability, and look forward to welcoming any one on board who wishes to serve the Union in a positive way. I would like to extend my personal gratitude, as well as that of the Union itself, to the previous Executive Committee from the depth of my heart. Despite the hardships, these individuals have passed on a platform, a voice that reaches to the four corners of not only Pakistan, but is also a voice across the Globe, a platform extending to as far as America and Canada. We are grateful for the absolute support of the Pakistan High Commission who have encouraged our efforts over the past year as well as being a driving force for unifying efforts more recently. Being an executive member of a student union places great burden of responsibility on one’s shoulders. To ensure that we perform our duties to the best of our abilities, we would like YOUR support, each and everyone of you. You can be a student, an alumni OR even member of the general public. We believe in the principle of taking everyone onboard. YOUR opinion matters. . We require your support and guidance and do look forward for your participation. Year after year of improvement and success, we at NUPSA aim to go higher. We urge our general council to help us strength the sanctity of the union. In order to do so, we will open suggestions for reforms that will be constituted in to a legally binding document;the constitution. We would welcome suggestions from the general public too. Having organised successful events like Pakistan Young Leaders Conference (PYLC), political dialogue, Pehchan Pakistan, we will improve these events and make them better with your suggestions and opinions, after all it is for YOU we do these events!
There are two worlds in Pakistan- the world of the masses and the world of the masters. There is the people’s image of themselves and there is the arrogant coterie’s image of the people. We at NUPSA trust the people and their wisdom implicitly. We believe that we can achieve wonders for our country and it’s people with your support. Today, we the NUPSA executive committee extend our hand to everyone who is in favor of a better and progressive Pakistan to come forward and help us to materialise this dream. NUPSA always has and always will be the property of the student community and we being the elected individuals will always serve this community to best of our ability. So let’s say that we move forward to write a new chapter in the history of Pakistan. They said that making Pakistan was impossible, but we did! They say that uniting Pakistani's will be impossible, we Inshallah we will! Looking forward to meeting, interacting and serving as many of you as possible, Pakistan Paindabad!
