Introduction:The NUPSA Research Placement Programme (RPP) is an initiative to encourage overseas university students to carry out research within Pakistani universities and research institutes. This will help promote collaboration between Pakistani and UK universities and researchers. British students will get the opportunity to work on research problems relevant to Pakistan under the supervision of local academics. Research Project Proposals:This year, the focus is on Engineering, Science & Technology, IT and Medicine based research proposals. Academics in Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) are encouraged to write research proposals with aims to offering solutions to the current problems of the country. The following Projects have been received so far. 1. Synthesis of New Bis(hydroxyphenyl) aromatics as Nonsteroidal Anti Breast Cancer Agents 2. Smart Water Management in Large Scale Irrigation Networks Using Cyber-Physical Technologies 3. A STED Super-Resolution Fluorescence Microscopy System for Diagnostic Pathology 4. Sensor Networks for Emergency Response 5. Services for Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks (VANETs) 6. Using Wireless Connectivity on Campus for Location-Based Services 7. Developing Ontologies and Rules for Homes, Vehicles, and Campuses 8.
