The University of Warwick Pakistani Society
As one of the largest societies on campus, we regularly hold a variety of events which have engaged the interests of students from different cultures and disciplines.
The last few months have been memorable for members of our society. We have engaged in discussions on a number of controversial issues, such as Pakistani politics and the war on terrorism, with renowned individuals like Politician Ahsan Iqbal and Professor Shaheen Sardar Ali. These talks have drawn in a number of students and alumni from a spectrum of cultures.
We also celebrated Eid with a traditional Ghazal night which attracted over one hundred members and non-members. The event was such a success that society members requested another Ghazal night which took place last week with a larger turnout and overwhelming feedback.
We extended an invite to eight other Universities in the UK to compete in our annual Inter-PakSoc Cricket Championship (IPCC) tournament. As well as this we have had several dinner and lunch socials both on campus and off campus.
We have raised money for charity through Pakistan Charity week and students have volunteered in schools in Pakistan as part of an initiative called “Educate Pakistan”.
